🌟 Sound Quest — Privacy Policy

Sound Quest (formerly R-Quest) is a free, family-made app for practising speech sounds (such as R and S) in a playful way. It is designed to be used together with a parent. This page explains, in plain words, what data is processed and how.

What we do NOT collect

No accounts, emails, or passwords
No advertising and no analytics or tracking of any kind
No third-party cookies

Voice recordings

When your child taps "Record", a short clip stays on the device for listening and comparing with the model. It is not sent to a server and there is no automatic pronunciation scoring. Practice clips are temporary; family word recordings are stored locally and can be deleted with the word or profile.

Game progress

Stars, streaks, and tricky words are saved on the device (browser localStorage). When online, a copy of progress is automatically saved in Cloudflare KV, under a random sync code. The synced copy contains no child's name or voice recordings. Family words and their recordings stay on this device. Anyone who knows the code can restore the progress on another device, so treat it like a password.

Deletion

On-device data: Parents → Reset progress, or clear the site data in your browser.
Synced copy: email us your sync code and we will delete it. Copies expire after 180 days without another save.

Important: Sound Quest is a practice game. It is not a medical device and is not a substitute for evaluation or therapy by a speech-language pathologist (SLP).
